bridge - cache, delete

New to PS Cs2's Bridge. For every photo that I work on the bridge saves a cache file. Is it safe to delete this? I have them everywhere!

The purpose of the cache files (I think) was to speed up retrieving and viewing images.....:) I don't think it would cause a problem if you deleted the files because of space? needs....but would try a few first and see what happens ;););)
