Contact Nick (Gluwater) or Frank (eng45ine). They both live there and would know good places to go. You should also contact Lisa and see how she's doing. I miss seeing her around.

I'd fly up there go out and play with you but guess I'll just wait for another time. ;) I love Chicago!

Not sure what you'll find this time of year...as Illinois isn't known for it's "birding". There is some wildlife there...but I got spoiled living in Florida. I went up a couple years back to visit my family and hooked up with Nick. We saw a few birds including a couple GBHs and a hawk. Here is a link that might shed some light. Unless you want pigeons & crows...you'll probably have to leave the city limits. I suppose the beaches might have some gulls.

If you are interested in other photo ops...there are a ton of museums and the Shedd aquarium for subject matter. Plenty of things like train museums, airplane museums, etc...in the 'burbs also.

Might as well just shoot the peeps in the city. There are plenty of people pics easily aviailable....and then there is the amazing architecture in the city. Plenty of things to shoot. Just look around. :-)

Have a good trip.

Keith there are just too many things to do in Chicago, I live about 60 miles North of it, and try to go down at least twice a year just to take pictures. Here are a few sites that you might want to visit:

What ever you do, YOU GOT TO GO TO NAVY PIER! You will hate yourself if you don't. Millennium Park is also a must see if you're a photographer also.

The food is amazing too, so expect to put on a few pounds. :)

Keith,

Here is a great link, which shows the various Chicago landmarks:

http://www.cityofchicago.org/Landmarks

You can see the locations, proximity to one another and how to get there, which can be a challenge logistically when trying to photograph in a big city like Chicago or New York.

I guess the main things are the Skyline, the Loop, Buckingham Fountain, Sears Tower, etc.

Here is an alphabetical list:

http://www.cityofchicago.org/Landmarks/List.html

There are also tours which will cluster toghether visits to several districts/landmarks/areas so you can photograph that way, however, I find it a bit confining to be on someone elses' schedule and prefer to be alone, but this can be beneficial especially if you are in an unfamiliar city and don't have the time to learn how to get places.
