Calliandra haematocephala

A new bush in our garden, we are hopping to attract a few native birds when it is fully grown.

As always, your comments, feedback and critiques are most welcome.

Jonathan

Ah now that's what I've been missing. Mr Chin doing what he does best!. Great Shots, Johnathan.

In the first image, is the background item what it looks like before it blooms?

Wow amazing Jonthan! When did you get the D3S? Do you like it more than the D700?

Thanks,
Chad

Thanks Gene! Yes, it is a new bud in the background in the second shot.

Thanks Natalie! Where is your wall located? I am sure we can arrange something if you are interested

Thanks Chad!

I've only had it since the beginning of Feb, Mao twisted my arm and made me do it... Ergonomic wise I am still getting used to it (different placement of the metering switch and AE-L button, and absence of second rocker in the vertical orientation as on the D700 battery pack), but it is a Nikon so I have no problem getting around (am yet to read the manual properly...). It is actually slightly smaller and lighter compared with the D700 with battery pack attached.

Other than that, the most impressive wow factor is the low light/high ISO performance... and the focusing speed is quite impressive too. Is it worth it? Yes, every single penny!

Regards,
Jonathan

Very nice Jonathan. Really enjoyed seeing both of these shots. I think I am going to have to catch up with you one time in Sydney for some pointers
